Scarborough, Tobago – June 2024 – Tobago has taken a significant step toward a greener future with the opening of a new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station at the Cove Eco-Industrial and Business Park. This new facility has the potential to substantially reduce carbon emissions on the island, marking a key advancement in Tobago’s commitment to clean energy.
Joseph Ishmael Khan, CEO of NGC Green Company Limited, spoke about the numerous benefits of utilizing clean energy alternatives like CNG, highlighting their positive impact on the environment and air quality. Additionally, Anna-Alisa Goindoo, the company’s sales and marketing manager, provided insights into the investment and costs associated with establishing this important green initiative.
The launch of the CNG station at Cove Estate underscores Tobago’s push towards sustainable transportation and its role in fostering a more environmentally friendly energy landscape across the island. This development offers a cleaner fuel option for vehicles, contributing to healthier communities and reduced carbon footprints.
