THTI Celebrates International Chocolate Day

International Chocolate Day holds significant meaning as it serves as a delightful reminder of the universal love and appreciation for chocolate. To mark the occasion, the Tobago Hospitality Tourism Institute (THTI) allowed students of Tobago high schools a front-row seat as they learned from Chocolate Delight Chocolatier Jean Claude Petit. With over ten (10) years of experience in the chocolate industry, he demonstrated and explained the process used in creating several types of their local chocolate. A few of those were Bene Ball, Caramel, and Pena colada.

Petit boosted that the uniqueness of Tobago’s chocolate comes from the flavor because of the quality of the soil and the natural environment. He advises young people who are interested in the chocolate industry that they could start at home. While there may be a few people in the world who do not like chocolate, for most of the world chocolate is considered to be a delicious treat.
