The focus of the award ceremony was to honor Tobago’s history of harnessing power. According to Dr. Faith B. Yisrael, Secretary for Health, Wellness, and Social Protection, the goal of THRA personnel is to assess the general health of individuals who visit them. She emphasized that everyone has a crucial role to play in the healthcare system, regardless of their position.
According to Dr. B Yisreal, Tobago’s legacy in healthcare began in the 1800s when medicine was introduced to Tobago. She explained the award ceremony demonstrates the THRA’s strength in maintaining Tobago’s framework throughout the two-year COVID-19 pandemic. Also addressing the award ceremony was Chief Secretary Farley Augustine. He emphasized that the provision of free medical treatment to all residents and guests makes the THRA one of the greatest healthcare systems in the region. He pointed out that the THRA successfully met the challenge of COVID-19, even though it was a novel situation, and the organization wasn’t initially aware of the virus.
