Black Rock, Tobago – Following a shark attack that occurred on Friday, April 26th, at Turtle Beach, resulting in 64-year-old UK national Peter Smith being seriously injured, a prestigious award was presented to Orion Jakarov. Jakarov, an employee of the Starfish Hotel, was recognized for his heroic act in rescuing Smith.
A special ceremony was held at the hotel to commemorate Jakarov’s bravery and quick thinking. During the event, he received the esteemed Father of the Nation Medal of Honour Silver award, a national recognition for his courage and life-saving efforts amidst a critical emergency in Tobago’s waters.
