Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales has received the final report on the 2023 TSTT cybersecurity breach. The report, presented by TSTT’s Board of Directors on January 23rd, follows an investigation conducted by an independent team. Gonzales expressed his commitment to using the findings to improve cybersecurity and crisis communication, not only at TSTT but across the public sector. He stressed the need for vigilance in the face of persistent cyber threats and highlighted the importance of transparent communication, particularly with customers. After reviewing the report, Gonzales plans to submit it to the National Security Council and Parliament’s Joint Select Committee for further consideration. The investigation was launched in November 2023 after assurances that customer data was not compromised.
