March 20, 2025 – The Spiritual Baptist community in Tobago is making strides toward completing its main church in Signal Hill. This progress comes with significant support from the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries, and Urban Development (DIQUD). Bishop John Carrington, President of the Tobago United Spiritual Baptist Assembly, called the assistance a “welcome response” after DIQUD facilitated the first pour of the church’s deck last month. Currently, meetings are held in a basement that was fully constructed by the community. This year’s Spiritual Baptist Liberation Day on March 30th will see worshippers enjoying a panoramic view of Signal Hill and Scarborough. The second pour of the 122ft by 86ft deck is scheduled for March 25th, 2025, as the church continues to grow.
