March 18, 2025 – Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley departed for Barbados today, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, to attend the 48th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM. The high-level discussions, chaired by Barbadian Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley, will address key regional issues, including the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), food and nutrition security, climate change and finance, security, digital resilience, and external relations. The crisis in Haiti, maritime and air transport, and reparations are also on the agenda. Dr. Rowley is accompanied by Senator Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, who will participate in diplomatic talks. Meanwhile, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Stuart Young has been appointed Acting Prime Minister until Dr. Rowley returns.
