Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – The influenza season is upon us, typically beginning in October and ending in May/June of the following year. At a press conference hosted today by the Ministry of Health, Minister Terrance Deyalsingh shared that influenza vaccines arrived earlier than normal, having been delivered last week.
To get a head start on protecting the public, vaccination drives will begin a month earlier than usual. Manager of the Expanded Programme on Immunization, Nurse Grace Sookchand, also provided important information about influenza, detailing its symptoms and available treatments. This proactive approach by the Ministry aims to increase public immunity and minimize the impact of the upcoming flu season.
