Scarborough, Tobago – June 17, 2024 – Several villages are conspicuously missing from the Tobago Heritage 2024 calendar of events, which was shared by the Tobago Festivals Commission today via its Facebook page. This omission has sparked concern among cultural enthusiasts and residents alike.
Notably, popular events such as the Pembroke Salaka Feast and the Les Coteaux Folktales and Superstitions did not make the cut for this year’s festival. Some of the other cherished events that were removed from this year’s staging of the festival include the Black Rock Wake Up Call and Sea Festival, Wake and Bongo Night, and Belle Garden’s Bele Festival. There is also no traditional opening night Gala. The changes to the Tobago Heritage Festival 2024 schedule highlight a shift in the annual cultural celebration.
