Scarborough, Tobago – The PNM Tobago Council recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a prestigious award ceremony, marking a significant milestone for the political organization on the island. The event, skillfully hosted by Senator Laurence Hislop and former THA Secretary Marslyn Melville-Jack, drew a distinguished roster of guests.
Among those in attendance were Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley, Chairman of the Tobago Council Learie Paul, and Political Leader Ancil Dennis. Notable parliamentary figures, including MP for Tobago West Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis and MP for Tobago East Ayanna Webster-Roy, also graced the occasion. The ceremony, spanning over 57 minutes, served as a comprehensive showcase of the PNM Tobago Council’s achievements and its contributions to the island’s development over a quarter-century.
Particular attention was drawn to the PNM’s leadership of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), credited with fostering a myriad of opportunities across various sectors of the island’s economy and society. The Tobago Council also took the opportunity to recognize and honor stalwart individuals who have passed on, acknowledging their foundational efforts.
Among the deserving awardees celebrated for their exceptional contributions to both the party and the wider community were Vernon McMillan, Jonathan Daniel, Shameeka Toppin, Dinesha Manning, and several other dedicated individuals.
