Scarborough, Tobago – June 27, 2024 – Petal-Ann Roberts has been appointed as the new Secretary of Finance, Trade, and the Economy for the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), marking a historic moment as she becomes the first woman to hold this pivotal position.
The announcement was made today during the debate in the Assembly Legislature on the THA Budget 2025. Roberts took her oath as a councilor following the declaration of vacancy of Certica Williams-Orr’s councilorship, stepping into a key leadership role in Tobago’s financial management and economic development.
