Opposition Leader Demands Answers on Missing Fentanyl Vials

August 25, 2025 – Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles-Robinson is calling on the Government to break its silence over the disappearance of 300 vials of fentanyl from public health inventory, warning of the drug’s deadly potential and the urgent need for transparency.

Speaking at a media conference earlier today, Beckles-Robinson expressed deep concern about the missing narcotics and criticised what she described as a disturbing lack of accountability from the Ministry of Health.

The Opposition Leader stressed that the country deserves clear answers and insisted that Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh provide a full public explanation regarding the whereabouts of the unaccounted-for vials.

Beckles-Robinson warned that the Opposition will not let the matter be swept aside, vowing to pursue the issue until the government takes responsibility and outlines corrective action.
