While acknowledging the legitimate grievances of transport operators—including outstanding state payments for school transport services, highway speed limits, hub upgrades, and illegal PH operations—NPTA President Walter Stewart stressed that withholding public transit while thousands of candidates sit their CSEC and CAPE examinations causes severe anxiety, uncertainty, and disadvantage for hardworking students.
