Need for Dialogue: Kwesi Des Vignes on THA Frustrations with State Agencies and Tobago Development

Former Infrastructure Secretary Kwesi Des Vignes says diplomacy is missing between T.H.A. and state agencies.

Scarborough, Tobago – April 16, 2024 – As the current Tobago House of Assembly (THA) continues to voice frustrations in dealing with state agencies crucial for advancing Tobago’s development, former Secretary of Infrastructure, Quarries, and the Environment, Kwesi Des Vignes, explained that without diplomacy, these problems will persist.

This comes even as news surfaced that the construction of the new airport terminal is lacking crucial town and country approvals, while the THA itself is facing challenges advancing road construction projects without prior town and country approvals. Des Vignes’s comments underscore the ongoing need for improved communication and collaboration between the THA and central government agencies to streamline infrastructure development in Tobago.
