During the UNC’s Pavement Report last Thursday, Member of Parliament for Pointe-à-Pierre, David Lee, urged Trinbagonians not to re-elect Finance Minister Colm Imbert in the upcoming 2025 General Elections. Lee is of the opinion that Minister Imbert has failed to improve the economic conditions of working-class citizens. According to Lee, the suppression of VAT returns and the lack of foreign exchange have severely hurt businesses in the country and have created a financial crisis for many. 9 He also stated that Imbert’s return to the PNM proves that the party under Young is no different from how it was under Dr Rowley.
