Main Ridge Challenge Highlights Physical Fitness and Endurance

The Main Ridge in Tobago is one of the oldest protected rainforests in the Western Hemisphere. It was granted legal protection in 1776. In recognition of its 249th anniversary, as well as International Day of Forests with the theme “Forest & Foods,” the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme, in collaboration with other stakeholders, hosted the “Main Ridge Forest Challenge.” Participants were required to run, cycle, or trek through the Main Ridge Forest Reserve. The event attracted individuals of all ages and genders, each determined to complete the challenging course and reach the finish line at the Bloody Bay Recreational Ground. The challenge not only tested their endurance but also paid tribute to the forest and highlighted its significance.
