Minority leader calls on opposition leader to show her love for Tobago by supporting autonomy bills
Scarborough, Tobago – Minority Leader Kelvon Morris is urging Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar to support Tobago by ensuring the passage of the two autonomy bills. The central government is preparing Parliament to address the two Tobago self-governance bills soon.
The Opposition previously disagreed with certain aspects of the bills when they were debated in 2021, causing a delay in the process. They argued that parts of the bills did not reflect the wishes of Tobagonians. However, Morris stated that, although the bills are not perfect, they should be passed to allow for Tobago’s progress.
