Former Assemblymen Speak out about the operations of the Roxborough hospital.

Scarborough, Tobago – June 14, 2024 – Following the tragic death of Nadea Shanghie and her baby at the Scarborough General Hospital, concerns have escalated regarding the operations at the Roxborough Hospital, which currently only provides outpatient services.

At yesterday’s (June 13, 2024) Joint Select Committee Meeting on Public Healthcare at the Scarborough Library, former assemblymen Gerry McFarlane and Max James shared their concerns about the operations of the Roxborough Hospital as it relates to medical procedures. Their comments highlight a long-standing debate about the full operationalization and capabilities of the Roxborough Hospital and its role within Tobago’s healthcare system.
