March 20, 2025 – Today the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities, and Transportation took time out to appreciate and commend the valiant efforts of all those who were instrumental in the life-saving effort of Mr. Christon Battersby. Tokens were distributed by Secretary of the Division, Councillor Tashia Burris, Assistant Secretary, Assemblyman Niall George and Administrator, Ms. Shelly Trim to Mr. Ainswell Mapp, Lifeguard II; Mr. Kern Jackson, Lifeguard II; Fred London, Lifeguard Patrol Captain; Mrs. Sarah Persson of Sweden; and Mrs. Anna Hospedales of Canada. The family of Mr. Battersby were also on hand and expressed their heartfelt thanks to all who were involved in the life-saving effort of their loved one last Saturday.
