Lambeau Anglican Primary School reopens but ends Half-Day
Lambeau, Tobago – February 21, 2024 – Lambeau Anglican Primary School reopened today (February 21, 2024) following closures related to the recent Tobago oil spill. However, health and safety concerns arising from the incident led to parental hesitancy in sending their children back to school, resulting in a low student turnout and an early dismissal for the day.
Both Lambeau Anglican Primary and Scarborough Secondary schools had been closed since Ash Wednesday (February 14, 2024) due to the impacts of the oil spill. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has advised parents to keep their children at home until they feel ready to return to school, emphasizing that student well-being remains the priority amidst the ongoing oil spill cleanup in Tobago.
