Police in Tobago have apprehended the jet ski operator allegedly involved in the horrific watercraft collision that claimed the life of seven-year-old Angelica Jogie at Pigeon Point Heritage Park.
Officers attached to the Tobago Divisional Task Force took the male suspect—a resident of Canaan Feeder Road—into custody on Thursday morning following an intensive overnight search. The arrest follows the tragic incident on Wednesday afternoon when a jet ski breached a clearly marked, restricted safe bathing zone and struck Angelica, her parents, and relatives while they were swimming in shallow waters. Angelica was rushed to the Scarborough General Hospital, where she subsequently succumbed to her injuries.
