Scarborough, Tobago – August 20, 2024 – The Friendship Connector Road has been the subject of controversy and has not been completed yet due to ongoing legal issues. Sharing updates on Good Morning Tobago, Secretary for the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries, and Urban Development, Trevor James, said he is hoping for a resolution to these legal issues soon.
He stated that some of the issues faced by the Friendship Connector Road project should have required government intervention, adding that the next court hearing is scheduled for 2025. James’ comments highlight the persistent challenges and complexities surrounding a major infrastructure project in Tobago, underscoring the need for a legal resolution to allow construction to proceed to completion.
