Hopes Of Athletic Glory Dashed Amid Travel Chaos

Hopes were dashed and months of rigorous training brought to a screeching halt for eight promising young Trinidad and Tobago athletes this morning, as they were denied boarding for their Copa Airlines flight to Nicaragua. The team was en route to the NACAC U13 and U15 Age Group Championships, scheduled to kick off tomorrow, July 5th.In a press release from the NAAATT, the team were fully vaccinated but did not have their physical international vaccination cards on hand at the airport. Despite a letter from Local Organising Committee (LOC) being presented which stated that vaccination was not required for entry for this event, the team still denied boarding.Marcus Daniel a prominent sport journalist and sporting enthusiast hopes that the parents and team can help the athletes bounce back from this and that this does not hinder the upward trajectory of their burgeoning athletic careers.Repeated attempts to reach Ephraim Serrette, President of the National Association of Athletics Administrations (NAAA), and Team Manager Kelsey Toussaint-Reid for comment have gone unanswered.
