Scarborough, Tobago – The Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association (THTA) has announced the election of a new board at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 8th, 2025, at Mount Irvine Bay Resort. Reginald Mac Lean, General Manager of Blue Waters Inn, has been elected as president, replacing Alpha Lorde.
Returning in the position of 1st Vice President is Rene Seepersadsingh. The board includes experienced professionals from across the tourism sector. At their first meeting, the new board outlined key priorities: refinancing the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL), repealing the Foreign Investment Act, securing 3% of the Room Tax for destination marketing, and developing an Airlift Growth Plan. The board is committed to addressing urgent issues and driving sustainable tourism development. The new board will serve from 2025 to 2027 and is calling for continued support from the people of Tobago as they work to enhance the island’s tourism sector.
