Scarborough, Tobago – The accommodation sector is reporting lower-than-normal occupancy rates for the Easter weekend, with newly elected president of the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association (THTA), Reginald Mac Lean, blaming the issue directly on the hosting of the Rhythm and Soul Festival.
Mac Lean also claimed that politicians on the general election campaign trail are not offering real solutions to the island’s tourism challenges. His comments highlight a growing frustration within the industry over the impact of major events and the lack of a clear, long-term vision for tourism development.
