Friday, July 10th, Deadline Approaches For Tobago Youth-biz Camp
In Tobago, the clock is ticking for teenagers eager to become the island’s next business leaders. With a youth unemployment rate in Trinidad and Tobago hovering around 11 per cent, a specialised summer camp is equipping young minds with the financial tools they need to succeed. The Youth-BIZ Summer Camp, a hybrid virtual and in-person program by the Tobago House of Assembly’s Division of Finance, is seeing a surge in last-minute registrations. The two-week camp, running from July 14th, targets 13 to 17-year-olds, immersing them in workshops on budgeting, investing, and entrepreneurship. Since 2018, the program has aimed to foster a culture of financial independence. This year’s participants will engage in a business career fair and a pitch competition, turning innovative ideas into viable plans. With registration closing this Friday, July 10, and limited spots remaining, it’s an excellent opportunity for Tobago’s youth to get involved.
