Scarborough, Tobago – January 6, 2025 – Dr. Delmon Dexter Baker has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA), with the appointment effective January 3, 2025.
According to a media release issued by the TRHA, Dr. Baker, a seasoned Tobagonian healthcare professional, emphasized his commitment to harnessing the organization’s human resources to deliver quality healthcare to residents. With over 12 years of service at the TRHA, Dr. Baker brings extensive experience, including a Bachelor of Science in Medicine and Surgery, dual MBAs in healthcare management, and a background in leadership. His career includes roles as a District Medical Officer (DMO) and, most recently, Acting Hospital Administrator at the Roxborough Hospital. Dr. Baker also served as a Member of Parliament and Minister (2010–2015) before returning to the TRHA in 2017. Dr. Baker’s appointment ends a period from May 2023 to January 2025 when the TRHA had acting CEOs, bringing stability to the leadership of Tobago’s healthcare system.
