Flash flooding has caused severe damage to homes and triggered emergency responses for residents in Charlotteville, Tobago.
When contacted, Allan Stewart, Director of the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), confirmed that the dire situation was a direct result of a heavy downpour. This intense rainfall has led to major flash flooding, numerous trees falling, water rushing through roads, and landslides causing serious damage to houses. TEMA specifically reported that the heavy rainfall and landslides have blocked the Charlotteville Main Road near the Turpin bend, rendering it inaccessible at this time.
Additionally, TEMA stated that the entire village of Charlotteville is flooded out, with several houses sustaining damage. Numerous videos circulating through social media depict the extensive harm to homes.
