Update on Charlotteville Landslides & Flooding | Hon Farley Chavez Augustine | Host: Kandace Jackson

Flash flooding, causing severe damage to homes, has initiated emergency responses for residents in Charlotteville.

When contacted, Director of the Tobago Emergency Management Agency, Allan Stewart, stated that the situation was a result of heavy downpour. This has caused major flash flooding, trees to fall, water rushing through the roads, and landslides causing serious damage to houses. TEMA reported that the heavy rainfall and landslides have blocked the Charlotteville Main Road near the Turpin bend, rendering it inaccessible at this time.

Additionally, TEMA said the entire village of Charlotteville is flooded out, with several houses being damaged. There are many videos circulating through social media depicting the severe damage to several homes. Stewart said that emergency crews are on the scene lending assitance.
