September 8, 2025- The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is expanding its school safety efforts, with a new focus on Tobago. While the high-risk school deployment initiative was initially launched in Trinidad, the TTPS Tobago Division is adapting the model to suit the island’s unique context.
Rather than placing officers inside schools, the Division plans to boost patrols around identified institutions to ensure a strong security presence without disrupting the learning environment. Based on recent risk assessments, five schools have been flagged as top priority, with their names to be announced shortly.
The initiative aims to reassure parents, students, and staff while deterring potential threats and fostering safer school communities across Tobago.
