Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is urging politicians and national leaders to exercise greater restraint, maturity, and responsibility amid escalating racial rhetoric and political tensions. Speaking following an urgent stakeholder meeting hosted by the Tobago Faith-Based Council at the Masjid Al Tawbah in Lowlands, Augustine expressed profound disappointment that divisive conversations around race continue to dominate the national landscape.

The emergency talks were convened by Tobago Muslim Community leader and council spokesperson Kameel Ali, bringing together THA Finance Secretary Petal-Ann Roberts, senior religious leaders from diverse denominations, civil society groups, Tobago ACP Rishi Singh, and Senior Superintendent Rodhill Kirk to address the deteriorating public discourse.
