Tobago Business Chamber Chairman Martin George Advises the government to find a balance between environment sensitivity and development for Marriott Hotel .

Scarborough, Tobago – June 14, 2024Martin George, Chairman of the Tobago Business Chamber, is advising Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley against criticizing the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) regarding the length of time needed to approve developments like the Marriott Hotel investment at Rocky Point.

Dr. Rowley expressed frustration yesterday (June 13, 2024) that the EMA is “holding up the process” for the Rocky Point development. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the proposed project is currently ongoing and is slated for completion in 2025. George’s advice underscores the need for a balanced approach to development and environmental sensitivity, particularly concerning major projects like the Marriott Hotel in Rocky Point, Tobago.
