August 29, 2025 – Tobago is set to benefit from a new road safety initiative as the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation rolls out a driver rehabilitation programme for motorists who have had their licenses suspended under the demerit points system.
Announced during a recent post-Cabinet media briefing, the programme aims to turn suspended drivers into responsible “road ambassadors.” The initiative is part of a broader national effort to promote safer driving habits and reduce traffic violations.
With this programme now reaching Tobago, local authorities hope it will make a meaningful impact on the island’s roads.
