Division of Education Issues Final Call for Primary School Registration for Unplaced Students in Tobago

September 3 2025 – The Division of Education, Research & Technology is urging parents and guardians of primary school-aged children in Tobago to register their children without delay for the upcoming academic year.

A bulletin from the Division advises those who have not yet secured a placement for their children to visit the Division’s offices at Dutch Fort Plaza in Scarborough as soon as possible.

This call comes amid ongoing challenges with student placements across Trinidad and Tobago. To address these issues, the Ministry of Education introduced the First-Year Infant Registration System earlier this year, an online platform designed to simplify the registration process. Initially set with a March 28 deadline, the registration period was later extended to June 13.

Despite these measures, some students remain unplaced. The Division is now making a final appeal to ensure all eligible children are enrolled before the new term begins. Parents should note that placement is subject to availability in schools.
