CSO Reports Stable Inflation as T&T Holds at 1.5% in July

August 20, 2025 – Trinidad and Tobago’s inflation rate remained steady at 1.5% in July, unchanged from June but notably higher than the 0.3% recorded during the same period last year. The data, released by the Central Statistical Office (CSO), reflects modest overall price movements despite fluctuations in grocery and utility costs.

Other categories showed minor shifts. Prices for alcohol, tobacco, clothing, and footwear dipped slightly, while slight increases were recorded in housing, health, transport, and recreation.

Overall, the All Items Index rose by just 0.1% in July, signalling continued economic stability but ongoing pressures in key consumer areas.
