Buccoo Reef Trust and Boskalis Forge partner to restore Tobago’s Coral Reefs
Scarborough, Tobago – February 28, 2024 – The Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment, and Sustainable Development recently orchestrated a pivotal meeting between the Buccoo Reef Trust and Boskalis, a renowned Dutch company specializing in artificial reef technologies. This collaboration marks a significant step towards coral reef restoration in Tobago.
The partnership focuses on a pilot study that leverages Boskalis’ innovative Modular Sealife System (MOSES). This is a proven technology that has successfully rejuvenated deteriorating corals in Kenya. Expectation runs high for the positive impact anticipated from this cooperative initiative, enhancing the health and resilience of Tobago’s coral reefs.
