Communications and electricity being restored in L’anse Fourmi and Parlatuvier.
L’Anse Fourmi and Parlatuvier were not only cut off from electricity as a result of Hurricane Beryl but also from communications. Many fallen trees affected the area’s electricity supply. Because communications were also disrupted, residents were unable to alert authorities. Instead, they rallied together to clear the debris themselves until help arrived. T&TEC crews had to wait until trees were cleared from the road to access the lines damaged by the hurricane and conduct repairs to restore electricity.
