Communications and electricity being restored in L’anse Fourmi and Parlatuvier.
Scarborough, Tobago – The communities of L’Anse Fourmi and Parlatuvier were not only cut off from electricity as a result of Hurricane Beryl but also from communications. Many fallen trees affected the area’s power supply, and with communication lines disrupted, residents were unable to immediately alert authorities.
Instead, the community members of L’Anse Fourmi and Parlatuvier rallied together to clear the debris themselves, demonstrating remarkable resilience and unity until help arrived. T&TEC crews had to wait until the trees were cleared from the roadways before they could access the damaged lines and begin repairs to restore electricity to the areas.
