Rajesh Mohammed, the visionary CEO of Vision and Inspiration Music Studio Limited (VIMS Limited), not only excels as a music producer but also navigates his equipment with remarkable skill despite being visually impaired, utilizing various software programs to create his unique sound.
In 2021, Mohammed released his popular “The Christmas Tropics Riddim.” Building on that success, he decided to produce another festive compilation this year, aptly titled “Christmas Jam.” Mohammed credited gospel DJ Mickey as a significant source of inspiration, particularly after taking a year-long break from music. He recounted the creative spark: “A day I was playing a gospel song, ’cause I’m into gospel music a lot. And I was playing a gospel song, a chorus, ‘Hosanna in the highest,’ and a baseline came into my head. And I went back home and I recorded that baseline, and I decided to put some drums with it, along with some guitars and stuff, and while doing this, I said this could be a good parang, boy.”
The Christmas Jam features an impressive lineup of both local and regional artistes, promising a diverse musical experience. Mohammed also personally contributed an instrumental track to the compilation, emphasizing that the collaboration with his friend Andre Louis made the project possible. He also acknowledged Joey Rivers for the inclusion of live instruments in the riddim.
At the time of its release, Mohammed mentioned that “Christmas Jam” was accessible on the VIMS Limited YouTube page and was slated to be made available on other streaming platforms shortly thereafter, inviting enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the new festive sound.
