Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is expected to meet with Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar later this week to address ongoing concerns surrounding Tobago’s airbridge and limited flight access to the island.
The announcement follows a Town Hall Meeting held on Monday in New York, where members of the Tobagonian diaspora gathered to engage directly with the Chief Secretary. The meeting placed strong emphasis on the need for increased airlift to Tobago—a long-standing issue that continues to impact both international visitors and Tobagonians abroad.
Participants voiced their frustration over the lack of flight options and called for improved connectivity between Tobago and key international destinations. In response, Augustine reaffirmed that air access remains a top priority for the THA and noted that the upcoming meeting with the Prime Minister aims to push forward discussions on expanding flight services to the island.
This development comes shortly after the long-anticipated announcement regarding the official opening of Tobago’s new airport terminal. Tobago Updates will continue to follow this story and provide further details as they become available.
