As high food costs continue to impact household budgets, fresh market data indicates that supermarket choice plays a decisive role in consumer savings. The Consumer Affairs Division released its grocery price surveillance survey for Tobago, revealing that Penny Savers Supermarket in Carnbee recorded the lowest overall basket cost for essential household food staples on the island.
The retail survey tracked the pricing of ten core consumer staples—including everyday essentials such as Crix biscuits, Ibis flour, and Green Butterfly evaporated milk—across major supermarkets throughout Tobago.
