Cal Crew Suspended Pending Investigation Into Monday Night’s Emergency Landing

Caribbean Airlines flight BW 1541 made an emergency landing at Piarco International Airport on Monday night due to an engine issue. The ATR 72-600 aircraft was travelling from Tobago to Trinidad and landed safely despite the problem. In response, the airline temporarily grounded the plane for inspection and suspended a pilot and two technicians as part of the investigation. During a Senate session earlier today, Finance Minister Colm Imbert suggested the issue might have been fuel-related rather than a mechanical fault. He explained that the suspension of the crew and grounding of the aircraft are standard procedures during investigations of this nature.
