Cal Announces Online Tt Dollar Payments via Linx and Debit Card

July 3, 2026 — Domestic commuters will soon face fewer hurdles when booking flights on the inter-island airbridge, as Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL) officially announced the rollout of online Trinidad and Tobago Dollar (TTD) payments utilizing local LINX debit cards and domestic banking cards across its website and mobile app platforms.

The payment gateway upgrade addresses a long-standing point of friction for thousands of travellers between Trinidad and Tobago who previously faced restrictions due to credit card limits, foreign exchange billing issues, or the need to conduct transactions in person at airport ticket counters. Streamlining Domestic Travel and Expanding Payment Access

The integration of local debit transactions marks a significant step forward in making airbridge travel more accessible and equitable:

Strengthening Inter-Island Connectivity: Tourism and business stakeholders have long lobbied for seamless domestic payment integrations, noting that modern digital booking options are crucial for spurring inter-island commerce, weekend travel, and emergency transit between the sister isles.

Eliminating Credit Card Barriers: By enabling direct online settlements via the domestic LINX card network, commuters who do not hold international credit cards can now instantly secure confirmed bookings from their computers or mobile phones.

Easing Ticket Counter Congestion: The online debit payment functionality is expected to significantly reduce lines and transaction bottlenecks at ticket sales offices in Crown Point, Scarborough, and Piarco International Airport.
