Black Rock, Tobago – July 30, 2025 – As the final village on the 2025 Tobago Heritage Festival calendar, Black Rock took centre stage this morning with its vibrant and deeply-rooted Sea Festival, which included the traditional Boat Christening.
Known for its strong fishing traditions, the village brought the shoreline to life with song, dance, and storytelling that paid tribute to Tobago’s seafaring past. The event, which began with the usual wake-up call at 6:30 this morning, marked the final community event in the Tobago Heritage 2025 Calendar. All eyes now turn to Scarborough, where the festival will officially close with the highly anticipated Emancipation Day Parade, beginning at James Park on August 1st. This powerful portrayal of liberation and resilience promises to be a moving tribute to the ancestors who paved the way for freedom.
