Only one representative from Tobago competed in the national Senior Kings and Queens of Carnival Preliminaries in Trinidad on Wednesday night—Beverly Riley. She showcased her creation, “Queen of Tobago Waters,” from the band Riley’s Connection. Designed by Rondell and Beverly Riley, the costume was inspired by the impact of climate change on the seas, focusing on the threat of extinction to many fish species. However, one resilient fish, found in the waters of Kendall and Roxborough, inspired Riley’s portrayal. Despite the vibrant display, Riley did not make it into the semi-finals but will join the rest of the Riley’s Connection Band on the road for Carnival festivities in Tobago. As the reigning Queen in the Tobago zone, Riley also hopes to continue her reign
