Be Cautious on Roads

According to Rodhill Kirk, Superintendent of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, Tobago was relatively calm and peaceful during the Independence Day festivities as compared  to the previous week of usually high criminal activities.  Kirk noted, in comparison to Trinidad, Tobago’s biggest worries were break-ins and larceny as there were only eight murders in nine months.

The TTPS Superintendent noted that as of Monday, 4 September 2023, the detection rate has been 34% which is a 4% rate increase. Kirk further urged drivers to exercise caution as traffic delays are likely  with the reopening of the schools. He added to exercise a greater level of caution when passing through school zones as the area will be monitored by the TTPS.

Superintendent Kirk is also advising parents who are sending their children to Secondary school to  ensure safety measures be in place for the transportation of children. Parents should also be familiar with transportation drivers.
