Assistance Needed

Michelle Thomas, caretaker at Lambeau SDA Church, is urgently seeking public support to fund a crucial medical surgery for her son, Andy Wilson. Tanikah Cruickshank brings us the heartfelt details.

Andy Wilson, a student at Signal Hill Secondary School, has been diagnosed with Bowing of the Tibia, a condition where the tibia bone in his left leg is abnormally curved. According to Michelle Thomas, Andy has faced numerous challenges due to this condition since birth, including multiple surgeries, the most recent being in 2017 at Princess Elizabeth Hospital in Trinidad.

The ongoing curvature in Andy’s leg significantly impacts his mobility, often requiring him to use crutches and wear specialized footwear. This impediment has prevented him from engaging in activities that most children take for granted.

Michelle Thomas expressed her desire for Andy to live a normal life, free from the constraints imposed by his condition. The upcoming surgery, which costs $13,000 USD, aims to extend Andy’s foot, alleviate his limping, and eliminate the need for raised insoles in his shoes.

To raise funds for Andy’s surgery, the Lambeau SDA Church is organizing a fundraising concert on December 3rd at Scarborough SDA Church. Michelle Thomas remains hopeful that through community support and prayers, they will soon gather the necessary funds to proceed with the operation.
