Extra safety measures needed before reopening Scarborough Secondary School and Lambeau Anglican Primary School
Scarborough, Tobago – February 22, 2024 – Orlando Kerr, Assistant Secretary for the Division of Education, Research, and Technology, today provided an update on the ongoing air quality issues at Scarborough Secondary School and Lambeau Anglican Primary School following the recent oil spill.
Continuous air quality testing is being conducted at both schools to ensure the safety of students and staff. The Division of Education has authorized the reopening of these schools on Wednesday (February 28, 2024), after addressing concerns related to the hydrocarbon substance. A thorough deep cleaning of both schools is scheduled for completion by the end of this week, followed by a final inspection on Sunday, in preparation for their return to classes in Tobago.
