Minority Leader Kelvon Morris is calling on Chief Secretary Farley Augustine to provide a public statement on how the $50 million the central government allocated to the THA was spent. The fund was meant for oil spill clean-up and compensation for affected fishermen. Many fishermen have expressed concerns over not receiving fair compensation. To address growing uncertainty, the Minority Leader is demanding a detailed breakdown of payments, including who received funds, how much, and the criteria used. If these concerns are not addressed promptly, Morris warns that an independent audit may be requested. The Minority Leader stated that it remains committed to ensuring fairness and accountability for the affected individuals and communities.
