Dertech Urges 24-hour Quiet Period From April 9–10 to Support Sea Students; Public Asked to Reduce Noise Near Schools All Week.

As students across the nation prepare for the Secondary Entrance Assessment on Thursday, April 10, 2025, the Division of Education, Research and Technology is appealing to all political parties, campaign teams, and the general public to observe a 24-hour noise-free period. The quiet period is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, and end at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025. This initiative aims to provide Standard Five students with the calm and focus needed during the final hours of their SEA preparation. DERTech is specifically requesting the suspension of campaign-related activities such as motorcades, amplified announcements, and public rallies during this time. Additionally, the public is urged to keep noise levels low in the vicinity of schools throughout the entire week, with a special focus on reducing amplified sound. The Division acknowledged the vibrant energy of the political season but stressed the importance of prioritising students’ welfare during this crucial period.
