Pnm Wants Chief Secretary Farley Augustine To Clear Air On Voice Note Suggesting Alliance With Unc

Although Chief Secretary and TPP political leader Farley Augustine has dismissed the voice note as a smear campaign, the Tobago Council of the PNM is calling for clarity on whether the TPP is collaborating with the UNC in the upcoming general election. Minority Leader Kelvon Morris said there must be a clear confirmation or denial of the voice note’s contents. Augustine and other members of the TPP have since suggested that the voice note may have been AI-generated. However, Ancil Dennis, political leader of the Tobago Council of the PNM, remains unconvinced. Meanwhile, Morris stated that if the contents of the voice note are proven to be true, Tobagonians could be at risk if they vote to elect the TPP in one or both of the Tobago seats. In the voice note, a voice resembling Augustine confirms the receipt of funds to contest a previous election, while another voice, seemingly that of Persad-Bissessar, speaks about collaboration efforts. Persad-Bissessar has since denied the authenticity of the voice note and any involvement in collaboration with the TPP.
